Self-Care + Mental Health Resources, By Community
It’s been said many times, but the current anti-racist and Black Lives Matter movement is a marathon, not a sprint. All of us - whether we’re protesting, or supporting from home - can benefit from sustained mental health and self-care practices that will allow us to do this work long-term. Because we understand that the need for such resources vary by community - Black folks are experiencing a different set of mental health issues than white and NBPOC allies, for example - the below list is divided by community. We hope to continue expanding this list as more resources become available. If you have suggestions, feel free to email us at editor@wearebodypolitic.com!

LGBTQ+ mental health and self-care resources
Recent news of the murders of Black transgender folx may be triggering to members of the LGBTQ+ community. Quarantine has also caused many queer folx to feel isolated from their communities.

For NBPOC and white allies, anti-racist work can bring about feelings of shame and discomfort. The following resources provide thoughts on how allies can make this work sustainable and long-term, by persevering through difficult feelings and seeking additional mental healthcare.
